Way too complicated.

Well, I was going to try and set up some sort of archive so everybody could read old blogs but it's way to complicated. I really don't like how Blogger has it set up and it's going to require a lot of work. So it will happen eventually, but not yet. So stick with me.
Well this week I'm doing a class on Halloween. I never realized how weird Halloween is?! I mean how do you explain a bunch of kids dressing as scary demons and ghosts and going door to door making threats in order to get candy? Or how about carving a scary face on a hallow fruit and putting a candle in it? Well so far it's been fun and I've gotten some mixed comments and reactions.
This weekend we will also make an attempt to have a halloween party in our apartment. Our apartment is kind of tiny so it should be interesting. Also I'm not sure how well we explained "Constumes", which seems to be a new word to the Chinese. So of course I'll take some pictures and hopefully they'll be up with the tons of other pictures that need to go on the site. So everybody stay tuned and I'll see what I can do.

PHP is like sweet poetry

Well, I've been working with Jay Callicott on this PHP project that we will both eventually use for the photo portions of our website. We're being a little ambitious, but I think this is a good thing since I'm so out of practice. We're trying to create a system to where we will just upload the pictures to the server, use some perl cgi to enter in titles and captions and then let the PHP do the rest ( making thumbnails and desplaying everything correctly ). So I've been doing that for the past few days and neglecting the rest of the site. I figure I'll give everyone a while to have a look around anyway.
I did put a post on my other blog saying that I've moved full time to this site. So tell all your friends and family not to check that blog anymore, but to come to this site instead. I'm going to have to break down and mass email everybody probably, which I really hate to do. It's not that I don't love everybody or that I don't want everybody to come and see my site, but I just don't like to do mass mailing. But for all the people that I love, I might make an exception.

yesterday I was really busy so I didn't get to add anything to the site. As you can see there is still a lot of work to do, so I appreciate everybody's patience. I've got a lot of plans for the site so stay tuned. I promise I'll update it at least every other day.
So this week we're talking about American food vs. Chinese food ( at this point I think Chinese food is winning ) so in order to give the students a little taste of America, Elizabeth and I are making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The reason we chose pb+j is that it's easy to make, it's pretty cheap ( well, relatively ), and everybody in America knows pb+j, right?
Today we received a package from Elizabeth's parents. That's the good news. The bad news is that they sent us two boxes and the one we got today was the second one. So now there is an investigation ( not really, we contacted the post office ) to find out where it might be. But getting American stuff was fun, I must say tacos never looked so good.

Ok, it's pretty late here. I've been working on the site most of the day. Today was kind of busy because I had two classes and I took one of those classes to McDonald's. But I'll talk more about that later. Until then, I'm going to bed.
