Lost in the work world : Week 3
8.19.2004 : 01:05
Well I'm on week 3 and a half and don't feel too much like Dilbert yet. The reality is I'm liking the job. The people are cool, the work's not too difficult, but not exactly boring either. It's actually a quite pleasant balance.
Future planning has been put on hold for the moment. I never quite realized how much time a full time job would burn on a daily basis. Pretty much all of it for those of you who've never experienced it. I wake up at 6:00 get to work about 7:45ish and leave about 5:30ish. I get home have dinner and it's about 6:30 to 7:00. I have to get to bed around 11:00 to get up at 6:00 the next morning so that leaves about 4 hours a day I get to do something not work related. And that kinda sucks. If I was in a job I didn't like, I expect I would be pretty much miserable.
As far as webpage updates go. I actually wrote some PHP last night. My old picture system is total crap ( way too complex and too much work for the end result ), so I'm in the process of making something that's going to be easy to use and not take too much time just to put up some pictures. So students, if you're still out there, you should have our pictures by the time you get back to school ( I hope ).
Ok, I have to get back to work.

Nathan's new job : Week One
8.07.2004 : 11:04
Well I started my new job on Monday. I'm now a Tech for the IT department of St. Johns River Community College. The whole department is very very busy ( which is why they hired me ) but that means I'm not getting a lot of training or introduction before they throw me at projects and errands. So it's been interesting, but also a lot of fun. I've got a lot of email to send out, I haven't done anything but work the entire week. I'm basically just posting to let everybody know that I found a job and that I'm alive. I'm really really thinking about adding more to this site. If anyone is still reading it.
