Of Hurricanes and running from them

Well a few weeks ago some of you probably got an email saying that I was skipping town and didn't know when I was getting back. Well I'm back and have power again. New Orleans was fun, although not too much fun since we spent most of it worrying about people back in Florida. Back home the damage was pretty severe in the little town I live in. Elizabeth's parent's house looked like someone had emptied a bowl of forrest on top of it. There was a gigantic tree perfectly placed across the roof of the shed to insure total destruction. But the cleanup only took the better part of a day, 5 guys and a few chainsaws. Charlie and Ivan ( hurricanes ) missed us completely, so I hope any other hurricane that decides to come through won't be as rude as Francis.
In other news, I had a birthday. I got some C.S. Lewis books and a GameCube. Having the GameCube I had to run out and buy Zelda:Wind Waker, which is the reason I wanted a GC anyway.
Work is going ok. I've been here over a month and things are running smoothly. There was an opening in our programming department so I got my title changed from "Information Systems Technician" to "Programmer II". I have no idea what it means except that sometimes I sit in with the programmers and look at a bunch of Oracle PL/SQL code and sometimes I still work as a tech. Which works for me since I'm more comfortable as a programmer, but appreciating the education as a tech ( like how to break computers and such ).
Well that's all for now. Happy belated Birthday Lukas.
